FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019
Arena lead the consortium that delivered all overlay structures for this important FIFA football event on a very tight schedule challenge.
The tournament had a challenging tight 6-month turnaround, after being transferred by FIFA from Peru to Brazil. The choice was to operate the 52 matches/24 teams competition in smaller stadiums and out of the biggest cities. This decision set a new motivation for ARENA to develop alternatives on a quality demanding overlay and lower cost design/construction solutions. ARENA was the leader of the consortium that won the rights to deliver the entire overlay for the 4 stadiums, on a very tight schedule.
The temporary structures were delivered successfully, with several alternatives taken on cost-effective solutions and with great care on legacy infrastructure. This was managed within a very detailed handover and hand back process.
